M2 Nighthawk with Smarty data sim

Hi  - I have inputted the APN details I received from SMARTY into the Netgear APN dashboard. However it still won't connect to the mobile data. The APN I was told is mob.apn.net but this does not seem to work. There were other info that SMARTY gave  'MMSC' 'MMS Proxy' but there are no fields for these on the Netgear dashboard. I spoke to someone at Smarty and they said they had no restrictions. Is it possible to use a Smarty mobile sim in the M2?
