M6: DNS dies when activity on local network

M6 Nighthawk with latest firmware

Randomly DNS connectivity becomes unavailable.

Able to ping 1.1.1.1 but not ping google.com

The only solution is to reset the device.

I've noticed that I can reproduce this when installing software like parallels on my mac

or Norton Antivirus on my PC. I can reproduce this 100% of the time.

I even did a wireshark capture. Errors seem to indicate something to do with uPNP activity. 

I've disabled upnp on the M6 in the hopes of fixing but that didn't help. 

I've opened a case with Netgear but they didn't seem too interested in helping across several months. Even offered me a refund.

I hope that someone else has experience a similar issue and can advise.
