I'v had some success, connecting it to a external erial has given a connection again and it seems to be finding data. Only thing is the erial is much bigger than the router so its not so portable but maybe its telling me there's an erial problem. Will try Netgear support again for help.

what is an erial? do you me aerial (external antenna)?if so what type are you using?
I'm not having any problem with signal strength,if connected to Ethernet port it works fine for 4 min and then cuts out. still has full bars and still works 100% fine if you're connected to wifi.
my workaround has been to put it in bridge mode,and we'll see when I get to work this morning if it stayed stable overnight.
