MR100 ethernet

Ethernet port will not work. Go into the router and its green on the wifi side and x on the ethernet side. Won't connect to my router. I have another that I bought last year that works this way just fine. ATT tells me 20 different things and I've been hung up on twice now when the couldn't figure out any issues beyond the scripted troubleshooting

    Hi jejohnsx

    Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

Have you tried changing Ethernet cable?

Please wired a computer to the MR1100 and check the Ethernet status. Is it "Network Cable unplugged"? Connected - No Internet Access? Disabled?

Kindly check if computer gets an IP address.

    Regards,

Ok. So you have to disable data off loading. Do not waste your time calling att. They essentially told me you can not connect it to an xbox and didn't know how to connect it to a router. I have two of these and the first one I bought a year ago works fine for everything but became bogged down after getting an arlo system so we got a second router. The first wad setup by a tech who came to my house. I was on my own on the second. There are also wifi and ethernet timeouts that you may want to disable.

If the ethernet port goes down, simply reboot, unplug and reset it and it should come back up just fine
