MR1100 – Nighthawk & TP-LINK 1200Mbps

I will be using the MR1100 as only source of internet. No reliable fibre connection as over 2km from nearest cabinet.

Currently have a TP-LINK 1200 extending the wireless range of my current EE wireless router.

Can I do the same with the MR1100?

Straight forward enough to configure? 

Read some posts that sort of suggests you can but got no definitive answers.

Also, some posts suggest to remove the battery and use without, can I use the supplied charger without the battery installed. Will only be using away from the house infrequently.
