Hi Francois,
I have your same device and same problem with automatic update check: it doesn't work so I update manually.
2. Unpack the executable with unrar (it is a RAR SFX archive)
3. You will find 2 files: a windows executable and the firmware
4. Rename the fw file: MR1100-100EUS_23113509_NTG9x50C_12.06.01.00_00_Generic_05.01.secc.cwe to MR1100-100EUS_23113509_NTG9x50C_12.06.01.00_00_Generic_05.01.secc.cwe.spk
5. From the web gui of the router, update manually by pointing at the renamed file.
6. It will reboot 2-3 times at least, it took longer than previous updates, be patient and wait, you can monitor the progress on the router's display.
7 Enjoy and let me know if it worked. :)
Cheers,
Alessandro

Hi Alessandro,
Thanks for your solution. It works. I succeeded tu unpack the .exe file but I didn't know what to do with the .cwe file.
Francois
- AlexDelPreteJan 26, 2019GuideGlad it worked for you. Netgear makes good products, but support is their weakest point. They published an update with an executable without explaining how to do it, and they didn't think about Linux users. Here on the forum, they just provide standard answers, nothing really helpful.
But this has always been the case with them. They built a bad reputation unfortunately. Even though the products are good. But that is not enough anymore, they should really address this problem.

Salve ragazzi, leggo le vostre discussioni e soluzioni ma io con lo stesso problema utilizzando un mac non sono riuscito... potete allegarmi direttamente il file spk? Grazie
- AlexDelPreteJan 26, 2019GuidePietro, follow the instructions in my previous post.
You unpack the file, it's a rar archive, and rename the firmware file to .spk and from the web gui of the router you update the firmware.
