some progress.... SIM Care Removed, Battery Removed....i held in the reset, held in the power button on the front, and then plugged in power...
power indicator light flashed blue/orange over and over until main display now says DOWNLOPADING SOFTWARE UPDATE
we will see....problem there is no SIM CArd so nothing is going to download
still cant ping the device...if i could just ge to that point, i could follow the TFTP instructions to force a good version of the software
any guidance is still very much appreciated- Klogsdon65Mar 17, 2020Aspirant
so i finally got to a NetGear tech that walked through everything done...
then explained that the device is locked by AT&T and they would have to take the problem on
I swear, just need a way to flash this ... i really dont think the hardware is the issue, it got sideways durring afirmware update that AT&T pushed and now its just stuck....- Klogsdon65Mar 17, 2020Aspirant
AT&T was no help...took forever to just get thme to understand its not my cellphone i am calling about
then the 10 minutes spent lookiing at the DataPass account i have for the sim card in the router...
Tech...I dont see your device...Me: NO #@$...i told you i bought this AT&T device at BestBuy
Tech:...oh, i would recomend calling BestBuy...Me:... well it went downhill quick from there
they refused to guide me towards a RMA saying its all on NetGear if its a replacement
no idea on how to solve a software problem, even though they sell it and have it locked down
