MR1100 cannot update firmware
Current router fw version: NTG9X50C_12.05.05.14 Latest fw version: 12.06.11.00_00 firmware check using web and app UI, specifies the device is up to date. There is not upload "button" available ...
- Thanks for screenshot. It was very helpful to identify the issue. Your device is MR1100-1A1NAS which is an AT&T variant. The FW in the link you provided is for MR1100-100NAS which is the retail variant. The firmware for your model is upto date as AT&T have not released anything later. I hope this helps clear up the confusion.

Can you try doing a factory reset on your MR1100 and then re-check for firmware update?

Can I confirm that your device is currently on NTG9X50C_12.05.05.14 and it shows there is an update available as a notification but there is no download or update button in the WebGUI to update? Can you please help to provide a screenshot of your issue?

That is the correct fw version.
When I go to Administration, Firmware Update there is a Check for Update button. "Pressing" this, it thinks for a moment and then tells me there is no update. It does not tell me that there is an available version, and there is no text indicating that I can manually upload one.
The Netgear support page mentions a later version.
