MR1100 Dual Use

Can one computer use a direct connection through a USB cable and a second computer connect through Wi-Fi? Also, the manual reads to direct connect through a USB cable. Why couldn't I direct connect through an ethernet cable? Thanks in advance.

    This is HW limitation on M1 that USB connection and USB tethering can't work together. But other combinations, such USB tethering + WiFi and Ethernet + WiFi can work together.
