MR1100 says connected but NO internet
Please help me figure this out. I have a MR1100 hotspot, using an AT&T sim card with grandfathered Unlimited plan on a PRE paid plan. I have used this for over 2 years but on thursday it stopped work...

John, others:
Quick update- powering up the Netgear via the WebGUI on a pc, vs mobile device works
AirCard Mobile Hotspot and Mobile Router Login Information | Answer | NETGEAR Support
ATT SIM card populated the manual ADD option,
showed ATT prepaid as ATT and APN broadband,
selected that, works good on "LTE"
Hmmm. Next dumb question for NETGEAR gurus...
Since ATT is supposedly shutting down LTE in January 2022, how do we manually tune to 4G or equivalents? I understood the MR1100 has that capability, but not 5G?

Glad to know that the device works for you now!. You don't need to worry about 3G shutting down in AT&T. Actually, LTE is another name for 4G. So the device will no tbe impacted since in major markets, AT&T has LTE coverage. I don't think you can find 3G network to use.
Thanks

Thanks, John! for clarifying shutting down 3g but NOT LTE (aka 4G ).
I posted an additional comment about tweaking bands in the MR1100, and I wonder how that might be applied in areas roaming on ATT partner networks, or possibly in busy other areas in order to maximize thru put where alot of users might be sucking up bandwidth.

By the way for other MR1100 users there is a great review and more detail here:
Which links back to Netgear for community support as well.
There is also a paid subscription area for more indepth and up to date reviews on various other topics for digital nomads...well worth it if you are looking for comprehensive overview and drill down detail for your needs.

Since M1 support combining multiple LTE bands, which is call carrier aggregation, to achieve higher throughput, we don't suggest the customers to play around with the LTE bands support on the device, so we really didn't provide the such capability on UI. If LTE bands are messed up, the device may not achieve the ideal throughput supported by the device and network. The FW will handle this automatically in order to get the best throughput.
