MR2100 - data connection is disconnected

Device MR2100 purchased in Feb 2022.

sim card: Vodafone X Ireland

currently roaming in Italy.

The device has been working perfectly fine. Yesterday, the battery overheated and the device displayed an error message related to the battery temperature. The data connection then dropped.

I cooled the device but the error message "data connection is disconnected" keeps coming up and I have no internet access.

The sim card has credit. when i put the simcard in my phone, it works. in the MR2100, roaming is enabled, domestic data is enabled.

I have done a factory reset.

I have tried with the default APN and various APNs. 

Any support on how to overcome this error message would be appreciated!
