MR5100 DNS address not available

Hi,  First post, so please forgive any unintentional errors!

I have a Nighthawk MR5100-1A1NAS that I am wanting to use as fall over for my network when my cable connection goes down.

When I connect to the unit via Wi-Fi all works well, but when I connect to the Ethernet port, it does not work and although the status shows connected, when i scroll through the screens, I see DNS Server: 0.0.0.0.0, which I don't believe is correct but this does not appear to be configurable.  I do not have a Static IP address to use, so I have the system set as DHCP, just cannot understand how Wi-Fi can work but ethernet cannot.

Any ideas?

You need to enable Ethernet offloading on M5 to achieve your goal.

    1. Connect M5 ethernet port to your cable model LAN port

    2. Enable Ethernet offloading on M5

    3. Connect all the clients on M5 WiFi

    4. The data traffic will go through your cable modem

    5. When M5 detects the cable modem is down, it will restore the data connection on the mobile network so all your WiFi clients will still have the data connection.

    Thanks
