MR6500 unable to get "Internet Connection" on lab network

We are using the MR6500 in lab testing with the Amarisoft Callbox.  However, the unit will no longer list the Internet Connection as active on the cell RAN.  However, from the cell side, I can see the unit is actually "calling home" to "api.qwes.qualcomm.com" for some HTTPS traffic, before the cell connection transitions to idle. If I put a Google Fi sim into the unit, it connects to "5G" just fine, listing the APN as T-Mobile.  So, there is something the "call home" is doing to disable to the Internet connection and prevent the unit from actually being useful on the lab test network.
