Netgear m6 Pro MR6500 hot spot OVER HEATING

Why is my unit overheating with battery installed while using or charging it. This is my 3rd unit to do the exact overheating. I want to know the fix to this problem.

1. Please capture model.json file and send PM to me

2. Please detail your network setup. 

  • How many WiFi clients
  • Is Ethernet port enabled and speed
  • What is connected to Ethernet port

    Hi I have heating issue with my M6 Pro MR6450 from day one even after the last update the issue still not solved.

    Because of heating the battery drain so fast. the heating issue presents with both options battery and plug in cable.

      Hi, All, 

       

      Please be informed that we have released firmware

      FW v12.01.47.00 for MR6550-100PAS and MR6150-100NAS
      FW v12.01.48.00 for MR6450-100EUS, MR6150-100EUS and MR6550-100APS


      This release includes the following:

      • Improving the thermal performance
      • Introducing some new UI messages on LCD to mitigate with the thermal concerns
      • Improve overall performance , resolving some unexpected Rebooting
      • Improve ETH Performance (speed)
      • Not Powering On
      • Intermittent Charging

      Other SKUs will follow in the next few days as it requires testing by the carriers.

        I already downloaded the latest update
        FW v12.01.48.00 for MR6450-100EUS
        and disabled the Ethernet.
        Usually I connected 2 devices and sometimes 4

    It's a common issue with Netgear period. I'm going on my 4th unit. Constantly in heat mode with mine
