Verizon certifications are more complicated than thought. They have retail certifications for their retail stocked devices and ODI certification for Business customers. With different Verizon certs, the available data plans are different as well. That makes supporting Verizon customers more challenging. Also they have different plans for pre-paid and post-paid and the devices that are eligible for pre-paid may not be used for post-paid and vice versa. We are still working with Verizon to sort out the data plan issues.

I have gone round and round with Verizon the past few days and it appears that the MR6550 can only be used with Verizon postpaid accounts but not prepaid. Is there any possibility that Verizon will allow them to be used with prepaid accounts any time soon? It appears others have gotten around this issue by activating a SIM using an approved prepaid hotspot device and then swapping the SIM into the MR6550 using APN VZWINTERNET.
