Netgear M7 pro unable to connect 5G in S.KOREA
Model: M7 pro (#MR7400)
Firmware Version: NTGX75_10.03.22.01
Software Version: MR7400-1A1NAS_02.11
Hardware Version: 1.0
PRI Version: 02.11
My device is an AT&T model but is carrier unlocked. Currently, I have registered the IMEI as an SKT 5G device in Korea and configured the APN settings for 5G. SKT Korea supports the 5G n78 band, and I understand that the M7 Pro also supports n78. However, the device only connects to 4G LTE, and 5G is not working.
How can I enable 5G? Do I need to register the device on an allow list, even though it is carrier unlocked? Or can I force the device to use the n78 band through firmware modifications or debugging? Please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue.

JohnPengHow do you know that n78 does not work? do you have a method that list the connected bands on the M7?
- YoungJoAspirantI'm not entirely sure if N78 is not working, but even with manual carrier selection, my device only recognizes 4G (while Korean phones show very strong 5G signals in this area) and does not detect 5G at all. After searching various local forums, I found that some overseas carrier-locked devices may have a sort of region lock, which makes me suspect that N78 might be restricted. So, I'm asking if there is a way to force N78 activation or remove the allow list(region restrictions) through firmware modification or debugging.

ATT M7 doesn't support 5G SA so far. That may be the reason you couldn't connect 5G right now. Please wait for the coming maintenance release with 5G SA supported.
