Netgear MBR1210
Hello everyone… I am living in Ghana for a year. All Internet access is via Cell signal. For the past several weeks I have been writing to technology friends all over the world for info about some sort of router / access solution. Then by pure coincidence today I was in an office that had a Netgear MBR1210. Wow. I have downloaded the user manual, and have been in tech for many years. I have a few questions.
The documentation indicates that you cannot use a “local” ISP SIM card only a Bell, but that doesn’t make sense. In Ghana we have two or three ISP vendors, the vendors and SIM cards I have access to in the town where I live are Vodaphone and Airtel. The router Admin assures me they have used a Vodaphone SIM card. Additionally, this router has an antenna port, I’m familiar with the type of antenna that would fit, however, the whole issue here is, the network connections are so weak… what do you folks suggest for a good antenna, using the jack in the router or using an external roof attached antenna? If yes, which one? Remember, I’m in Ghana.
What is the latest model of the Netgear MBR1210?
I cannot find any pricing info, does anyone have pricing?
