Netgear mr7400 WiFi 7 hotspot for AT&T

One question about this unit, if it was to be unlocked through AT&T, would it still work with other providers? Like does the unit have all the bands for all the other providers once it’s unlocked?

  • From Netgear web site, https://www.netgear.com/home/mobile-wifi/hotspots/mr7400/, the supported bands are -

    4G LTE : B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B12/B14/B28/B29/B30/B40/B46/B48/B66

    5G Sub-6: n2,n5,n12,n28,n77,n78

From AT&T web site, https://www.att.com/buy/connected-devices-and-more/netgear-nighthawk-m7-pro.html, the supported bands are -

    4G LTE : B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B12/B14/B28/B29/B30/B40/B46/B48/B66

    5G : n2, n5, n12, n14, n28, n29, n30, n48, n66, n77, n78

Supported bands won'tbe changed even after unlocked, what might need to concern is if it has APN profile restriction for AT&T device.

Bands will remain the same locked or unlocked. If you need bands for other carriers, buy an unlocked model. No unlocked model yet for the MR7xxx line, for MR6XXX, you can get MR6550 or MR6150

        1. This place is mostly full of Netgear users who have nothing to do with the company
        2. Any Netgear people here won't know about product launches
        3. Netgear doesn't go into future plans especially when they may be down to other businesses, like network operators

Just another user with time on their hands.
