Netgear Nighthawk m1 MR1100 Firmware 12.06.07 cannot operate without battery
After upgraded to firmware 12.06.07, my netgear m1 cannot operate without battery inserted. It keeps rebooting. Before the upgrade, it works normally just using ac adapter (with no battery in...

This is a known issue with the current release (12.06.07.00). The main fix in the latest release was to address the reset being experienced by some users. There should be a new FW release soon to correct the no battery problem.
Here are the release notes for the latest FW:

Same problem here.
Hope the fix has helped more people than it has hurt. :smileyhappy:

Wouldn't it be more helpful to describe how we can make a firmware downgrade?
- mliOct 22, 2019Tutor
In hindsight, the upgrade notification should warn if a known bug is introduced to avoid the risk of upgrading firmware and then downgrading firmware.
If the above is too technically difficult to implement, a boilerplate warning to read the release notes would help those consumers feeling lazy at the time and tempted to trust in the competence of vendors. :smileyhappy:

A new release will be released soon to resolve the no battery reset. For now the recomended work around is to run with the battery installed.

Great! That means three to six months for the fix. My router will be melted by then :smileylol:

What's the best play for maximizing the lifetime of the battery?
1. Leave battery in and power plugged in and trust in the charging algorithm;
2. Attempt to run off battery power during the night and charge during the day to prolong battery life; or
3. Attempt to run off battery power during the day and charge during the night to prolong battery life?

- LTEGuyOct 24, 2019StarHi there.
A new firmware has been released that resolves the no battery operation. Please select check for updates on the M1.- RJSinMOOct 24, 2019Guide
When I do a check on the unit for firmware it says I'm current, and it's 12.05.05. This is an AT&T branded device. So, 12.06.07 isn't coming up, nor whatever you are saying is now released that is newer than 12.06.07. Also, 12.06.07 is the only one available for download from the website, so if there is something newer, it's not posted.

A new firmware release soon.
I wonder when soon, is.
I do not think it should have been released with this known issue.
I use this as my main broadband.
I can't keep removing the power every time it tells me the battery is fully charged.
I don't even understand why the battery power needs to be removed when the battery is charged. Surely it has power management.
