Netgear Nighthawk M2 Firmware Download
Does anyone have the latest firmware for this device, Netgear support will not provide it.

There is no generic stock firmware for Telstra model, you can only get it unlocked with the carrier before moving to other carrier

thanks, ive requested to have it unlocked by telstra already but it will still have their firmware. i also read and it may be mistaken that a further firmware update it wipes the unlock.
will the modem be usable by another carrier that doesnt directly sell the m2? e.g. if i plug in my optus sim will it work?

- W1lliamOct 26, 2022VirtuosoIt has several factors that might be impacting your intended purpose -
1. If the sim from the other carrier allows you make it for hotspot usage
2. If this model does have proper bands supported for that particular carrier
3. If the carrier allows users to take their own hotspot device with provided sim
If above factors are all YES, and you have unlocked device, then you should be able to take it for the purpose.- BSL81Oct 26, 2022Tutorthanks again w1lliam.

it does we use it for this purpose, its sole use is a data sim.
2. If this model does have proper bands supported for that particular carrier
i assume theyre the same, both major australian telcos
3. If the carrier allows users to take their own hotspot device with provided sim
i havent read that it doesnt.
so i shouldnt worry that its telstra branded firmware?- W1lliamOct 26, 2022VirtuosoSa far as I can tell, Telstra FW does not put too much limitation after unlocked, except further FW upgrade is not happening that frequent as generic models
