New firmware for Netgear Hotspot

My contact at DISH reached out to me and let me know that Netgear released a new firmware to fix the no connection issue when roaming.

The file is available on Netgear’s site and you can download and install manually if you are comfortable doing so - otherwise he said that DISH will be reaching out to those who contacted support to walk through the process. The file is ~210mb and takes about 15min to install and for the hotspot to update afterwards.

    What Netgear device are we talking about here?

     

    Is it one that falls into the category of General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk and Non-Orbi) covered in this section?

    That's generally true of any Netgear device that has firmware that users can access. (That doesn't include cable modems.)

     

    Visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

    Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

    That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.

    Look for the model number on the label on the device.
