Night Hawk M1 MR1100

Hi
I am going to purchase this device and have came to know after reading online reviews that people are having issues where this device keeps going to sleep mode when there is no internet traffic for some specific time.
Apparently the only way to get it up is to restart the device again.
Has anyone experienced this and what is the best solution if we experience this issue.

Thanks in advance.

  • Are you referring to the Ethernet connection or the Wifi connection?  In both cases, standby mode can be adjusted/disabled.

For Ethernet, standby can be totally disabled (default is 2min).  For Wifi, I believe I have mine set to 1hr.  I forget if it can be totally diabled.

Either way, pressing the software power button once will wake it up (Wifi standby).  Also, to go into standby at all, I believe all of the wireless clients have to have dissociated first.

I confirmed last night that both the Wifi and Ethernet timeouts/standbys can be completely disabled.  My unit was on all night, with no Wifi clients attached, and was still on in the morning and the battery had drained ~3/4 of the way suggesting that it did not go to sleep.

Additionally, I was able to browse wifi networks on my phone, see the SSID, and connect right away without having to touch/wakeup/reboot the mr1100.
