I am having the same exact issue. Went as far as purchasing an additional 2x nighthawk m1 and all 3 routers are having issue with the Ethernet port not working. I’ve called Netgear and was on hold for 2 hours with absolutely no help. Any time someone answered they transferred me to someone else.

Hey guys, Two things to check. Log into the hotspots management page (web browser at 192.168.1.1) and in the Mobile Internet check the following settings.
USB - Charge + Tether <- Set this to Charge only as USB will take priority over the Ethernet connection. This will force the tether to Ethernet
Ethernet Standby Timer <- Set this to disable. Ethernet port goes to sleep on no link activity after 2 minutes unless disabled.
Hope this helps!

Make sure you are using the supplied charger block as other USB ports might not supply enough power. What SKU of MR1100 is this? Look under the battery on the label?
