Nighthawk M1 No Internet (w/ Ethernet)

Hello Community,

I have a Nighthawk MK1 router with a sim card using lte connection. With all devices I use wifi to access the routers' internet connection.

These days I got to do home office as many others and I was hoping to connect the router via Ethernet to my notebook, getter a faster connection.

Unfortunately windows 10 detects the connection but says "no internet".

(I already switched off the Ethernet standby in the setting; rtfm was not helping so far)

Thanks for your support!
Ron

  • My first guess is that you need to tell Windows that you are on a "private network".

    • Network and Internet settings
    • Network Status
    • Change Connection Properties
    • Network Profile
    • Private

I am told that this is all nonsense and that I have no idea what I am talking about. I have, however, done this myself and other people have also reported success.

You should also check that you have the latest LAN drivers for what is running Windows 10.

I would certainly investigate Windows a bit more deeply. Have you run its network troubleshooter?

Instead of using Ethernet port, I suggest you to use the device tethered to you laptop with the USB cable. Teh connection will be stable.

      Thanks
