Nighthawk m1 router

I have a vodaphone data SIM card, it is activated and I have made sure the APN is correct.  The router will not allow connection to the internet.  Any ideas?  I have been back to vodaphone shop several times and they are puzzled.  Trying to get hold of technical support from netgear but have already wasted 3 days on this piece of junk
