Nighthawk M1 Temp fluctuating throughout the day

Had the Nighthawk M1 for just under a year. Couple weeks ago noticed the device was getting hot 61C and the ping was in the 800's. Then the temp would go back down to around 40C. NetGear sent me a new one and everything was good for a bit and same thing started happening this week. Seems to get really hot mid day and i see the high ping numbers.

Any idea why this is happening?
