Nighthawk M1 to Household Router

I have been trying to figure out how to use my Nighthawk M1 as a modem feeding my household network.  Following a seemingly knowledgeable YouTube video, I configured the M1 by turning on the IP Passthru, turning off DHCP and disabling the Ethernet standby.  Hit apply and restarted the M1.  After connecting to my router via Ethernet cable powering up the M1 then the router, no joy.  Even though the M1 shows on its display that a device is connected, there is no indication (via the router login screen) that the router is reading/getting internet from the M1.

Please help!  Do I need to reconfigure the M1 or the router?

Please follow the steps below to reconfigure your device and tray again.

    1. Do a factory reset

    2. Connect a WiFi client to the device and run a speed test to make sure your device is under good coverage and can get decent speed.

    3. Log in to M1 WebUI to turn of device WiFi

    4. Log in to your home router to change the Gateway IP to 192.168.xx.01 (xx can't be 01).

    5. Connect ethernet cable from M1 ethernet port to your router WAN port

    6. Power on M1

    7. Power on your router

    Thanks
