Nighthawk M5 excessive data consumption
I've recently purchased a nighthawk m5 which is for 5g mobile broadband through our local telco Telstra.. For the first 3 months we’ve consumed our combined 580g data by the 3rd week?! Seems excessiv...
netflix (and a couple other streamers) can dynamically change what resolution you're streaming in based on the bandwidth you have.
One issue you might see is that because the M5 is more capable than the last hotspot you had, netflix could be using more data because its recognizing that the bandwidth is there to do so. Maybe you were only streaming 1080p and now are streaming 4K.
Tough to tell without being there but it might be worth checking into reducing your netflix settings if you're on a limited data plan.
