Nighthawk M5 slow download / fast upload on laptop - ok on mobile
Hi Nighthawk M5 / AX800 model MR5200 here. Using T-Mobile 5G network.
I joined two devices to wifi network - an iphone 13 pro and a Windows 10 laptop
The iphone gets speeds of 100mbps + download / 20mbps up
The laptop is getting almost nothing at 0.45 mbps but gets 18mbps up?
Ive tried almost everything including
switching band
disconnecting the iphone
resetting the nighthawk
updating the laptop using another network
plugging in a ethernet cable directly
Does anyone have any advice? I suspect it must be a problem with the laptop side?

Please advise your laptop make and model and make sure the WiFi driver on yoru laptop is updated to the latest.
Please also advise your IPhone and Laptop connected to 2.4G or 5G WiFi.

Update on this...
very strange scenario. Today i tried again plugging in using ethernet cable after resetting all network adapters to factory settings.
Intermittently - every few minutes i am getting 400 mbps down! Then a few minutes later it drops to 0.5 mbps down again whilst maintaing good upload speeds...very strange!
For info this lack of stability is only present using the Nighthawk on my laptop- download speeds are stable using the laptop on my work's internet and also on my personal phone!
to answer your question I have an intel wireless AC 9260 160MHz wireless adapter but the problem is the same plugged into ethernet
- ParisbrackenAspirantI have a similar problem and wondering if there has been resolution to your problem. The download speed on my M5 mobile hotspot will drop to .5 Mbps and upload will remain high speed on WiFi. I can power cycle the hotspot and speeds return to normal around 50 Mbps down, but it will eventually drop back down to 0.5 Mbps at random times a few times per day. I am considering returning the M5.

I have a similar issue but without the difference mobile / laptop. Although my MR5200 displays a full 4G+ signal and I have a 300mbit/s contract, I do not succeed with more than 1-2 Mbit/s in both download nor upload... I tried everything, reboot, reset, change settings. Nothing. And the very same SIM card works over 100 Mbit/s with a very cheap USB mobile router.
Any idea what the issue is?
