Nighthawk M6 mobile router…………wanting it to work with SWAN security NVR 8580

Hello, maybe someone has done this - curious as to how? 

Wanting to use this device at home, as it’s part of a bundle data plan, we are travelling so it’s not required to ‘run’ a household just support our security system. 

Plugging swan nvr into M6 Ethernet port …is this supposed to work?

I understand I can get a wifi antenna for the swan unit - but it will not reset if the power goes off or wifi drops out..

Of course I’ll get onto swan to ask the same questions - just thought someone here might have already had success with this.
