Nighthawk M6 Pro 6500 ethernet problems

Hello all, new to the forum here. I bought a Nighthawk M6 Pro 6500 about half a year ago. I ended up not being able to use it until this week. The range on the device is not that great so I went ahead and bought a router with a a larger radius to cover the entire home. A problem came about afterward. It seems to go offline not allowing the router any internet service to provide and requires a reboot. It works fine for about 4-8 hours and needs the process repeated. Ive heard that there are some ethernet problems that needed to be addressed on some models. I've tried putting it into performance mode minus the battery and other tricks. When it works right...it works very nicely. It gets close to 100mb down and 60 up. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

  • do you have the M6 setup in passthrough mode? Or the router hardwired into it in access point mode?

or you're in a double nat

After doing quite a bit of reading I realized that the M6 suffers from ethernet instability issues. So as a work around, I put the router it was connected to into wifi extender mode and ran it wirelessly from the nighthawk to router. There is another issue I'm also facing and its the division of the data speeds. It seems like it has a hard time dividing the connection among more than one device. Even tho the speed is enough to do it.

Programing the build is software firmware that is built in most important to get this port to work for fulltime home internet. Login to device using 192.168.1.1 you may need to do factory reset to be able to setup your own ID and Password. but I have many of these devices being used as whole home internet in a Rual area and this issue has come up before but usually can be resolved.

AS whole home internet you should use a stand alone router and connect M6 Pro from ethernet port to  Router WAN port, I have many using the Asus AX3000 and are working well. Must program M6 Port and disable standby mode to be disabled.
