I've always had issues with mine overheating completely: plugged in without battery, plugged in with battery, unplugged with battery. Very poor design from what I thought was a reputable company.

Same trouble for me. 50°C with mine but only if I disable WIFI.

As anyone has an alternative device in mind to replace my low reliability Nighthawk?

My new M6 drove me batty. Overheating, dropouts and all sorts of flaky nonsense. All firmware up to date and running minus battery.
As still under warranty, was advised to request a replacement from my ISP (Telstra Australia). This arrived, but still not reliable. No overheating but drop outs and general nonsense. Back to my old M1 and M2.
Thought I would try one last thing and replace my old WiFi routers with new NetGear devices. Surprise, surprise, everything has settled down and has been working as reliably as I can expect for the past few weeks.
Who knows what is going on

Hi IBN001,
Since I disconnected my WIFI the M6 pro looks quite well even if the speed rate isn't very impressive so far...
I'm surveying out a temperature monitoring to draw a link between bandwidth and temperature.
By the way I added a heatsink and removed the back the case.
Fingers crossed it's gonna work and be reliable...
My new ISP [B&you in France] seems not very impressive but fast enough...

PS : If anyone can advice me on a new 5G modem item?

Yes, picking up michaelkenward' remark, if the Netgear support would be more humorous and charming, they might have as well suggested to get a cute Eskimo lady, have a family and enjoy blazing fast 5G networking in your igloo together, given proper coverage.
For stationary usage, while it has it's own quirks in terms of routing capability and thus is better used in bridge mode together with another router, if it shall be the SDX65 chipset, the ZTE MC888A will be one of the cheapest options. The "A" of the model description is crucial though as the MC888-models (including the so-called "Pro" or "Ultra" variants) only have the SDX62.
