So far this firmware update has not fixed the overheating problem. It still gets extremely hot to touch and shuts down/locks up. Unplugging and rebooting temporarily fixes problem until it overheats again. I have a cooling pad/fan ordered to try and reduce the overheating. It is a 140mm fan that produces 69 cfm. Currently without the fan, per the hotspot software, the unit typically is running at 57 C /135 F which is warm to touch. The unit is much hotter to touch when unit shut downs. I will do another post once I try the cooling pad/fan. I am hopeful this reduces the temperature. Most of the research shows it will help.

Could you please explain your network setup with the device, such as how many clients and how heavy of the data used?
What is the ambient temperature where the device is used?
Thanks

John,
My hotspot is the M6 MR6110. My hotspot is kept 76" off floor on top of a cabinet. Currently it is winter time where I live, and I keep my house at 68 degrees F. The ethernet port is connected to a switch hub with two printers hooked to switch hub. I typically have 9 to 10 devices connected to the WIFI. Those devices include up to three Roku sticks streaming Youtube TV/Youtube/Netflix/Prime Movies, four cell phones, two laptops, and a tablet. I also have two WIFI extenders to help increase my WIFI signal. I received my 140mm usb cooling fan/pad tonight. I have placed the hotspot on top of cooling fan/pad for the last 2.5 hours. The cooling fan/pad has decreased the temps from 57 C to 47 C so far per the software's diagnostic tab. Hopefully I have detailed my network enough. Please contact me if you need more info.
