Is there any chance that Verizon will allow the MR6550 to be used with their prepaid plans anytime soon? It currently appears Verizon only allows it to be used with postpaid plans.

Hi rkj001
Pre-paid plans will be available soon. This is still being worked on by Verizon Team. We will provide update once new information will be available.

I have the Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro and I initially set it up on the Verizon Prepaid Plan in December 2023 and they ended up converting it to a postpaid plan on my business account.
So, it works with Verizon on both prepaid and postpaid plans.
Verizon has the 5G Ultra wideband mmwave spectrum.
This is a fantastic device.- JohnPengMar 09, 2024NETGEAR Expert

Hi Vincent,Thanks for the positive feedback. I think the reason that your plan is working is because it is not a brand new SIM card.
We know we still have some issues with Verizon Pre-Paid plans, which means that if you enter MR6550 IMEI to Verizon Pre-Paid portal, there is no available plans for the device.
Thanks

John:
Thank you for the reply. Are you actually with Netgear?
What issues are you having with Verizon prepaid?
What's the solution to the issue with Verizon prepaid plans?
And, just an FYI, the SIM cards have all been brand new.
I spoke with the Account Executive in the physical brick and mortar location before ordering the device to ensure it would work.
It was initially setup on a pre-paid plan which worked perfectly.
They then set it up on the postpaid business account.
The difference is/was:
Prepaid = 100GB before throttle down or adding funds for more bandwidth
Postpaid = Unlimited
