Nighthawk MR1100 Not Charging

A couple weeks ago the battery on my MR1100 wasn’t charging. I took out the battery and saw that it was bubbled out. I bought a new battery and it also won’t charge and the unit won’t turn on at all. I’m hoping I don’t have to buy a new unit seeing as we’ve only had this one for a year. Any thoughts?
