Interesting development...
Out of curiosity I plugged the Nighthawk to the power cord and power brick that I use to charge my MacBook Pro and the device powered on successfully, even without the battery installed.
So what do I make of the fact that it can power on w/out battery from a MacBook Pro power brick but not from the AC adapter that shipped with the product?
