Nighthawk Router - too much latency for my work phone
I moved to a rural location and there is too much latency in the service to run my work phone (runs through work VPN). I purchased the NightHawk router with AT&T plan but the latency is still above 40...
It's running through the VPN.
StarLink isn't yet available in my area.
We tried satellite service and it was horrible. We couldn't even stream on YouTube. We're pending dsl installation from BrightSpeed (CenturyLink) but it's costing $1,500 to run a line to the house and they need to wait until the ground thaws. A neighbor said the service isn't great so I honestly don't know if that will solve my issue. I need latency under 400 ms.

What latency and speeds do you get without the VPN running?
Because if your speeds are fine without it, the vpn is the issue.
- I tried running the test with my personal computer several times and was getting over 600 most runs. So it's definitely the service.
It was working perfectly when we had Spectrum before the move.Spectrum will have much lower latency because its a hardwired connection.
Connect your phone to the hotspot and run a speedtest on that. See what latency/speeds you get. (and post them back here, both of them)

The T-mobile router came today. I thought maybe because they had a tower within a mile I'd have better luck but it's worse. I can't keep an internet connection.
