ORBI LBR20: Use case for reducing "Transmit Power Control"

"Transmit Power Control" is an undocumented feature both in the admin interface and in the user manual for ORBI LBR20.

I am thinking it may control the strength of the signals (WiFi coverage) and if that is the case, I may want to use the 50% setting at night. Any thoughts?

  • Sorry, that is not a good idea.  Reducing Transmit Power is a method that is sometimes used when Orbi units are too close together, which causes devices to detect strong signals from two access points.  Some devices are confused by this and may "flip flop" between the access points.

This has nothing to do with time of day.  If it is useful to reduce Transmit Power, then it should be reduced 24 hours a day.
