Please help me understand ethernet offloading on AT&T Nighthawk M6 Pro
So you know what I'm trying to do, I'm a streamer and need fastest DL/UL otherwise my show will look like trash if I'm chugging along. I already have hooked up ethernet directly to the box, but I'm...

Thank you very much. Great explanation. What about using the ethernet port? Beneficial?
Also I'm noticing both the 5g and 2g bands hang like crazy. Like just as bad as crappy Motel 6 wifi. No point in having the unit if it's this bad.
Does it matter if I use dedicated 5g band vs mixed 2.4/5?

What actual speeds do you get from the hotspot?
usually the bottleneck is the cellular speed in your area
- jwhyrockJun 04, 2022AspirantIt's all over the place. I guess at this point my two questions are
"is there any benefit to using the ethernet port?"
"Does it matter if you use mixed 2.4/5 or 5g only band setting?"- plemansJun 04, 2022Guru - Experienced User

"is there any benefit to using the ethernet port?"---Sure. It can be more stable as there's less network overhead and interference over a wired connection.
"Does it matter if you use mixed 2.4/5 or 5g only band setting?"----It can. 2.4ghz is a slower network and more sensitive to interference. 5ghz is much faster and has less interference but it doesn't broadcast as far or through as much material. and if you're devices don't support 5ghz (some don't) then you'd need to leave 2.4ghz enabled.- jwhyrockJun 04, 2022AspirantSo I take this to mean if I'm going to broadcast my show, to go out of my way to switch to 5g only and also disconnect any devices from 5g. Then use ethernet to stream from? I only have 2.4 for crappy secondary phone and my discontinued Sony Dash alarm clock I've been unable to get to connect to wifi yet.
For best results I mean.
