Problem with Netgear ac815s
My AC815s is rebooting itself several times a day. Any suggestions how to fix it. Thank you!
Is it happening while its plugged in for power? using battery?
What are you doing when it happens? Streaming video, heavy usage, not using it at all?
We need more details than just it reboots. Try to keep track of when it happens so you can try to figure out if its a certain website causing it to crash, a certain activity, power issues, etc.
How old is it?
it's happening both using power and battery.
using streaming video.
How old? i've no idea . bought it used from ebay.
so it only happens when you're streaming video?
If its only happening under heavy data usage, it could be a couple things you could check.
1. Temp. It could be overheating. See how hot it is during heavy useage. I've had one that needed a small fan during heavy usage to stay cool. Not an optimal solution but might have been why it was on ebay.
2. Power supply. Under heavy usage, it could be pulling to much power off the battery/power supply and thats whats causing the reboot. You could try a different power supply if you had one to see if this makes a difference.
Have you checked to make sure the firmware is up to date on the hotspot?
What is the lastest firmware for this device?
