I was just able to confirm the ethernet port is two way meaning you can plug in a router or computer directly into it. You can also plug it into your home network (or hotel room ect.) and it will use your home internet connection instead of the LTE. In this case if your home internet fails or is disconected it will switch to LTE automatically. This must be selected in the setup. Refer to the full manual. I will use it both away from home and at home I have both options now. Connect it to my current home internet through my Netgear XR500 router or ditch my home internet and just plug my router into it with a choice of WIFI through the M1 or the XR500. By the way the wifi does NOT have to be disabled in order to use the ethernet. I am thinking Netgear did a major firmware update to address the complaints and these are old rumors we are hearing. I even read you can bridge it now! I do recomend you remove the battery as much as possible.

Your welcome! I agree on the antennas! I studied for a ham lic years ago. Find a ham operator they are great help! ATT is doing a 24 month payment plan on the same new price as Netgear directly. Netgear might have some refurbished?
