Ring stickup cameras with nighthawk m1 router

I am trying to get ring cameras to work with my m1 router and an X6S range extender.   I can connect with the router but the cameras don't record any video.   Ring suooort was no help.   Has anyone been successful with this setup?

    IoT devices are the devil's plaything, mostly because the people who make them are incompetent and don't know how to write decent installation software. For previous tales of grief try this:
