Either I or Windows found drivers, so I do now see a handful of COM ports in device manager. I've tried to connect to them with Putty, but unsure of settings or if that is even the right way to go about this vs some piece of software that would connect via COM and push/reinstall the firmware.

Hi Bianca,
I am still. It is indeed MR6500-1A1NAS. It will boot into download/QD mode and awaits a firmware flash. I have an alternate device that I've been using in the meantime until I can build up the "courage" to deal with ATT's tech support.
