Sending SMS from MR6450 or MR6500.
There is no option to send SMS with the MR6450 or MR6500 !! I never had a mobile router that did not have that option. For the Netherlands you absolutely need that option to request extra GB on a...

I am another unlucky owner of a Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro MR6500 modem, who can't use it because Netgear removed the function of sending SMS messages (the Nighthawk I purchased last year allowed me to send SMS messages). This functionality is absolutely needed with many mobile service providers (such as Moj Telekom in Croatia) for the primary function of this ostensibly top-of-the-heap modem - the SIM card in the modem needs to be managed in various ways, including extending the subscription, by sending SMS messages to the service provider. How could Netgear possibly remove this critical functionality! I sure hope it is back with a firmware upgrade sooner than I can replace my modem with another one.

Same problem here with Croatian, Netherlands, Belgian and some UK Telecoms who ask you to confirm activating feature by confirming SMS and sending yes, or a code. I travel a lot and M3 was amazing device until it wasn't.
It's interesting that in their manual there wasn't any send message, however on the firmware page there was setting for SMSC (sms center/gateway), feature existed and worked. Disappeared after some update.
Netgear has good hardware, excellent ideas, horrible windows drivers and worse firmware. We used plenty of their devices and moved to some other devices that offer full sms gateway features, all documented, clear, visible, no tricks : now you see me now you don't.
