Why is the MR5200 not certified with Verizon, and will it ever be?

I'm not sure if anyone here will have a good answer to this, but I would think this would be the best place to ask. To be clear, I am pretty sure from searching online that I can just get a 5G Verizon hotspot SIM activated on another device and then just switch it to the M5, so as long as that workaround functions indefinitely I'm not personally going to have much reason to complain, but if the device is technically compatible with the Verizon network I just don't understand why it wouldn't be set up to work with Verizon the normal way. I mean, isn't Netgear losing money from the people on Verizon who would totally buy the M5 but don't have the knowledge or the desire to get the device working in this roundabout way?

I can't say how many customers Netgear is losing this way of course, but it seems like a substantial amount considering how many angry reviews I've seen from people who aren't aware of any workaround. In my case I'm getting a Verizon Jetpack to activate the SIM, and then I'm just going to return it for a refund after swapping the activated SIM to the M5, so again, I'm not really losing anything. I am a bit worried that Verizon will identify the alternate IMEI and block my access or something, but at least from what I can tell that's not something they do. I certainly hope not, anyway. If anyone can answer that question it would be appreciated, but that's probably better directed to the Verizon community.
