M4300 Qos: Number of queues and default weight

Hi,

I am confused with some QoS settings in the M4300:

  1. The manual says there are 8 queues per port.   However, in the CoS / Diffserv mapping you can  only select 7 (0-6).  Furthermore,  the default mapping uses only  4 queues (0-3). Why is that?
  2. It seems like the default weight for each queue (minimum bandwidth per queue) is set to 0. Would this mean that if you  keep the default settings that each queue is treated in the same way? I.e. no priority difference?
  3. If there is a  default weight per queue (other than zero), what  is  it?

Just to double checked, are you referring to the M4300-8X8F switch model?  If yes, kindly specify which exact settings are you relating to on which menu option.

CoS and DiffServ are separate menu options and have their own settings. It would be best that you post screenshots and also, what are you trying to do with the QoS features?
