Hi hoping for a little assistance. I have purchased this switch in the hope of being able to connect to two different pieces of networkable hardware. Specifically, L'acoustics network manager require...

Thanks for the response. I think it is probably down to my limited understanding of networking by the looks of it. I think need a layer 3 Device ie. A Router I think to create separate LANs. The Shure software communicates with the RF units via DHCP requiring a LAN of its own and the L’acoustics software communicates with the Amplifier’s via a static IP again requiring a LAN of its own. In this scenario I can run my mac with the Shure Wireless workbench software{DHCP} and l’acoustics Net manager software{static} for both networks as the “brain” and connect to a router with separate LAN networks DHCP and Static assigned to individual ports to control the relevant devices on the two separate networks. Basically after some reading and with help from the answers above I think what I need is a small wireless router(I have no need to connect to the internet in this scenario but this seems the cheapest way to get the functionality I require). And the switch I have purchased already can be used to expand any network I create using the router. Does this seem like a reasonable solution? Thanks in advance. Andy
