GS324TP not allowing PoE changes

Hi everyone,

I recently noticed that I'm not able to enable or disable the PoE setting for the ports on my switch.  Each time I try to disable PoE on a port I get a pop up error message saying, "Error! Failed to Set 'Port Power' with 'Enable'".  The port still seems to provide power to any attached device so something is obviously working.

The logs are also filled with messages like the following:

<12> Dec 27 07:28:26 netgear-switch-1 POE[PoE_Req]: hpc_poe_brcm.c(5167) 870 %% WARN Unable to get acccess to PoE controller.
<12> Dec 27 07:28:22 netgear-switch-1 POE[PoE_Req]: hpc_poe_brcm.c(5167) 869 %% WARN Unable to get acccess to PoE controller.
<12> Dec 27 07:28:20 netgear-switch-1 POE[emWeb]: poe_control.c(860) 867 %% WARN Failed to set PoE admin mode for g16 to value 1

Any ideas on how to resolve this?  I'm on the latest firmware 1.0.0.38 but this was also present with 1.0.0.34.

  • Just wanted to post a follow up that a full power cycle (not reboot) seemed to resolve the problem for us.  Odd that this behaviour is being experienced and I wonder if it's related to a possible bug that manifests itself over time.
