GS724TP connection over GLX-SX-MMD SFP to CISCO 3560-X
I’m trying to connect my new GS724TP over MM fiber using a Network Hardware Resale (NHR) GLC-SX-MMD SFP module to my existing Cisco 3560-X switch… should it work? any tips? thanks

The GS724TP is brand new, purchased in the last 30 days. Don’t have a version number but the serial is 50XG215UA0456
The Cisco 3560-X I have has SFP (not SFP+) modules in. I have enough NHR GLC-SX-MMD modules to ensure they are identical at each end of the fiber link.
Thoughts?

Afraid, have no reference to the serial numbers. A GS724TP with an early 3.x and current 5.2.x would be a v1 model, one with a v1.x and current v2.0.x firmware would be a v2 model. 8-)
Let's assume it's a decent model.
Does a loopback fiber (one fiber from tx to rx) enable the module, indicating a fiber link? Test both ends of course.
For another test, plug two SFP modules in a switch, and connect these in a loop-back. this should bring up the fiber link up. Needless to say, the fibers need to be crossed.
Not sure if the cli commands are implemented - try eg ;# show fiber-ports optics all
Can't see why the link should not be established end-to-end.
