Updating the boot version on a GS310TP

Hi there. I just picked up a GS310TP with boot version is 1.0.0.1. I'm familiar with using TFTP to update MIBs but the updated MIB files are archived (zip) and there is no option in the file update (TFTP) tab to use an archived file. Any ideas on how to update this switch?

Thanks!

  • Boot code and SNMP MIB are on the very opposite sides. The SNMP MIB are never pusehd to a switch - much more these are used on SNMP based management systems to describe what is available on the SNMP manageable switch.

Why do you think the boot code must be updated? Can't see that any update is available.

The GS310TP Support Downloads https://www.netgear.com/support/product/GS310TP.aspx#download does show firmware version 1.0.0.12 - the Release NOtes and the download link is included here https://kb.netgear.com/000061372/GS308T-GS310TP-Firmware-Version-1-0-0-12 - of course the ZIP file must be expanded, and only the firmware file (e.g. GS308T_310TP_V1.0.0.12.bix) must be uploaded - much easier by using the Web UI than by TFTP anyway.

Sorry I was confusing the boot code with the MIB posted on the support page. Thanks!

Ok. Just for the records: The switch boot code and the firmware is again not the same!
